The Problogger: Chris Garrett
Today’s interview is with Chris Garrett from ChrisG.com. Chris is a very respected professional blogger amongst the blogging community and has co-authored a top selling book called ProBlogger: Secrets for Blogging Your Way to a Six-Figure Income with Darren Rowse. His also a sought out Internet marketing consultant, coach, speaker and industry commentator. Furthermore, Chris has an excellent membership program that will be reopening again in 2009 called Authority Blogger that teaches people how to become a professional blogger.
I interviewed Chris because I wanted to find out how he built numerous profitable Internet businesses. These businesses include his professional blog, ChrisG.com with over 14,000 daily readers and Authority Blogging, his membership program. Chris’ story starts back in 1994 just when the Internet started to emerge and I find out how everything has evolved since then.
In this interview you will learn…
- How Chris provides valuable content that has created a loyal audience of 14,000 daily readers
- The three principles of attracting subscribers to your blog
- What ChrisG discusses in his ProBlogger book with Darren Rowse.
Chris is a professional blogger that I highly admire and he is a very humble person who genuinely helps people succeed. If you want to succeed and build a highly profitable blog, Chris is the person to see.
You can read his blog at ChrisG.com or sign up to his professional blog training program at Authority Blogger.

I guess it all depends on what you want to achieve with your blog. People have different opinions, if you had asked Liz from “Successful-Blog “…..I think her answer would be something along the lines of – “Blogging is about your passion to write and produce interesting content to share with othersâ€. …Darren from ” Problogger”…. may have a similar view but we all know he earns a bucket load from blogs and whilst there may be passion, I’m sure he wants to “increase his wealth†as well.
Hi Web Traffic,
Passion is most definitely important to achieve success in anything you do, whether it be blogging to anything relating to Internet business. Sharing and being interactive is key as I’ve found to create a strong readership and the bloggers you have mentioned have done that very well.
Thanks for the great comment!
Dear Interviewer: You will find that moving your headset microphone about 2.54 centimeters (a standand inch) further away from your mouth and incrementing your mike input setting up accordingly, you can reduce or eliminatethe resultant “clipping”– if clipping is the proper word.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your comment and appreciate your feedback. I noticed that you found the podcast to listen to. I am glad that you noted that you couldn’t find it, so I will change the layout and make it clearer for any future listeners. I also hope that you will come back to listen to future podcasts as well and leave your comments.
Error Correction: “and only because you may in some way unknown to me be affiliated with him do I take TIME with this comment.”
Hello:
I wish you the very best.
I scanned this page 4 times, before I posted here.
Although I have been studying Affiliate Marketing from a “static site” perspective for 2 years, I am new to social networking and other web 2.0 aspects.
RE: “In this interview you will learn…”: Where in the.. is the interview?
Only because of my deep respect for a gentleman named James Martell to whom I owe much I will possibly never be able to repay, and given that I find myself here because of networking links I clicked on his site; and only because you may in some way unknown to me be affiliated with him– do I take take with this comment.
Again I scan this your page.
If it is your intent (which I know it is not) to frustrate me in my attempts to find the interview, and thereby challenge my ability to maintain a dead calm demeanor under any circumstances, then please consider yourself a resounding success.
Alright, let me take time to examine this page character by character…
Oh I see. You don’t want me to start at the main headline and work down.
I would guess if your target audience is made up of strictly seasoned professionals, or at least only experienced bloggers, then just ignore me and this comment.
I did not understand that the right-pointing-arrow graphic was intended to be the interview, and..
I mistook the words following that graphic for a “bread crumb trail” since I assumed their relative importance was reflected by their relative font size when compared to the font size on the rest of the page.
Again, I wish you the very best and I hope my comments are helpful to you whom I do not know.
I have no intention of ever returning to this page, but I have clicked the “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail”. Therefore, I will consider any follow-up by you on this page as acknowledgment that you value independent input, and I will be inclined in the future to continue to try to help total strangers.

Hi Ewealths,
Thanks for your comment. It is true there are many stories behind the success of other gurus. They don’t usually achieve success overnight but with consistent efforts, they get there.
Recently, I have been reading interviews of various gurus, I have learned one thing that behind every story there is another story. They didn’t just arrive at the present position by just wishing it but by being more persistent and ready to work…
