I totally agree with you and meeting people in person is the best way to network as you get to see their personality and how they present themselves. Just this week I went out to a local chamber of commerce and met a few new businesses in the area and it was amazing what it did for my business. I established new partnerships and I can't wait to see what the future will bring. What you mentioned about technology is right, it's getting so advanced that a lot of people tend to forget the basic face to faces and we all have to remember that a computer will never replace a 'real' person! Even in an industry based heavily online, I still find huge benefits to networking and developing offline partnerships. A lot of our online partnerships actually developed from meeting in person.
