You probably read the above heading saying what is Tyrone doing now? Why is he criticizing himself? Well, it’s true. For the launch of Mass Outsource Mastermind I really SUCKED at it! I am revealing inside this video my biggest mistakes during the launch of my course and as much as it hurt during the time, it was an important lesson I learned. I share this with you so you can make sure this doesn’t happen to you if you decide to launch your own product.
Also, in a few days time Jeff Walker is launching a new version of Product Launch Formula and there are some excellent videos I highly recommend you check out before he takes them down. Here are the direct links to watch these videos, (just opt-in once and you will be able to access them all):

Hi, it’s Tyrone from Tyroneshum.com. Well, firstly I wanted to share with you today the reasons why I suck at product launches. It’s not just to tell you that I was a failure at product launches but it’s just to reveal to you all my mistakes behind the scenes when I first launched in Mass Outsource Mastermind course. You may not have seen it or you may not have known but there were a lot of big mistakes that I did. I want to share with you today inside this video what I did wrong and what you can learn from these mistakes so that you can make sure that you won’t do the same things as I did as well.
And, it’s all part of the process of learning how to launch a product as well. When you go through this stage, you will learn a hell of a lot of of things. For me, I’ve learned so much. All right so let’s jump over to the Mass Outsource Mastermind page which you can see right here. What I wanted to show you was when I first launched this website, this is how it looked. It’s reinvented a little bit over time but essentially everything has remained. Everybody got 10 free videos here and also access to my Outsourcing Experts Revealed report.
On the day of the launch, what happened was I sent an email to my database and people who are on the database received this email, I’ll show you right now. This email that I sent out was actually the email sent to them to go to the sign up page. You’ll see right here, there’s a sign up link there. Supposedly, when you click on this link, it’s supposed to take up straight to this link but unfortunately, when I’ve sent this out to thousands of people, it went to the wrong link. I was way asleep because the time that we launched it was roughly around about 10AM or 9AM EST U.S. For me, that was roughly about 2AM Sydney time. So I didn’t know, I was already in bed and I thought yeah, that’s fine. I’ll wake up in the morning and hopefully, I’ll receive the orders.
Unfortunately, it was about 6 to 7 hours later when I received this from my good friend Gideon. Gideon says, “You know your links are broken right?” I was like oh, it’s absolute harass. You can imagine what happened there. Anyway, that’s a little thing I recommend you do is just before you send out your emails, make sure you send a test email to yourself and click on the links yourself to test and make sure it goes to the right page. That’s the biggest mistake I didn’t do. I didn’t test it and make sure that the links work. So that’s the first blunder that I had.
The second one, was even worse but I learned from this one. I’ll show you a person who is also a student of mine now. She tried emailing me and also tried sending it through the support ticket system which I have setup. We have been testing it and thought it was working but in actual fact it wasn’t. What happened was she had to go through 3 different means. First was the ticket system, the second through the admin which didn’t work as well, and then through to the forum post and finally, through to blog post which I finally did receive. After about 4 times, she actually finally got to me. It wasn’t her fault, it was my fault because for some reasons, our systems were not setup properly and emails just didn’t get coming to me.
Anyway, this is what she wrote here, “Hi, I’m a student of Yaro’s and I’ve been interested in your program simply because of his recommendation and the trust to put in him as a teacher. Alas, I got several different ways of contacting you to get my questions answered at all to no avail.” Obviously, it wasn’t too good. In the end, I was very, very lucky that I manged to get the hole of it and explain to them the whole situation. This was the message I sent straight to her once I received a reply.
I can tell you, from this experience, the most important thing is the customer service email system was working properly. For some reasons, I don’t know why admin@massoutsource.com was not forwarding to correct address, the support ticket system was not receiving the emails correctly so it’s just a complete mess. You can imagine what happened from my product launch. Luckily for me, I still made it through and with all these mistakes, I still have numerous of members buying into the program so I had a successful launch in the end anyway. But these were one of the biggest mistakes that I’ve learned and lessons that I learned from doing this whole product launch and making sure that the next one that I launch, I wouldn’t have the same problems and issues.
The thing that I wanted to just part with you today is so that you can get a knowledge of not everything is not going to be perfect when you first launch your product that you’re going to be launching at first. Because you’re going to learn along the way that there are going to be little things that you can tweak and there are going to be little things that you’re going to learn along the way. Like me, I had two major blunders, firstly the email that I sent out didn’t have the correct link so therefore potentially, I lost a lot of customers when they click through. Second thing was I was not able to even handle the customer support because it didn’t even get to me. So, some of those things are those you probably will experience as well and what I would recommend you do is learn as much as you can.
I know that in the upcoming few days as well, Jeff Walker is going to be launching his product launch formula and it’s called Product Launch Formula 3. It’s been revised numerously over time and time again and it’s shown so much success. For me, I learned also based on some of his models and principles as well for what I did for my launch. This is what I just wanted to share with you today, not every launch is going to be a perfect one but still, you’ll get through it. When you do, that’s where you succeed and it’s all about persistence and continuing to improve on your systems.
Now, where I’m at, at the moment is that Mass Outsource is doing very, very well and it’s also had numerous members continuously joining on and signing up to the program. So that’s what I wanted to part with you today. Yes, I really did suck at the beginning for Mass Outsource but I wanted to share that with you so that you can learn from my mistakes and that you wouldn’t have these issues happened to you today as well.
Anyway, I love to hear your feedback and I love to hear how you’ve gone if you’ve ever done a product launch. And also if you’ve never done one, I love to hear what your thoughts on trying to start up one, and if you’re struggling I love to be able to help you as well. So just leave your feedback just below here on the post and also I love to hear any other comments that you may have as well. That’s it for today’s video. My name is Tyrone Shum and I’ll catch you soon on the next one!
It was quite embarrassing to share this with you but I thought if someone succeeds at their own product launch then I know I’ve helped someone. If you have any feedback, please leave them below and if you could share it on FaceBook or Twitter I would appreciate it too. Thanks for your time with me today and see you soon!
[..YouTube..] Thanks for inside view into some of the mistakes that you can expect when creating a product launch. I’m sure you have saved many people from similar mistakes. I know I have ran into broken links on more than one occasion. Thanks for sharing Tyrone.
I was wondering if you could please tell me what screen recording program you used for that video? I use Screenflow but have never seen the red circle thing when you click your mouse…
Thanks for your comment. Yes it’s Screen flow that I use. To add the red circle when you click on your mouse go to your panel on the right and there are 6 selections.
Select the 3rd option which is called “Screen Recording Properties”.
In there go to “Click Effect” and select “Radar”. Then select “Sound on click” to have the mouse echo a mouse click.
I hope this helps and let me know if you get stuck.
[..YouTube..] @ssent1 Most definitely! I’ve applied Jeff’s strategies and they work! I’m a testimony of this and I don’t promote products that I haven’t tried. I’ve still got his PLF 1.0 and I hear with this new version it’s a complete revamp with new tools and technology to get you even further. There’s no harm in trying it and if it doesn’t work for you after 30 days Jeff will give you a complete refund no questions asked.
[..YouTube..] @tyroneshum Pretty cool. I’ve been looking a launching a product part-time and was wondering if PLF was really a good way to accelerate things. I’m comfortable with classic marketing, but wasn’t really sure if the investment in something like PLF would seriously be worth considering. What’s your take on it?
HI Tyrone,
It’s so helpful to know that everyone makes mistakes – even when we think we’ve covered all the bases. My first lesson is to give up being a perfectionist. Half the battle is responding well after the mishap rises to the surface.
Thank you for sharing yourself and your mess ups so generously
[..YouTube..] @ssent1 thanks for your comment. I used Jeff Walker’s PLF strategies in combination with Yaro Starak’s Membership Site Mastermind. There were numerous things that I put into place that help the launch get off it’s feet.
Oh, Tyrone, another quick question. How are you able to get the person’s “last blog” feature link in the comments area? It looks like a Comment Luv feature. If so, how did you activate it. I think it’s great! Thanks, Joy
Tyrone,
Joy here. The one you refer to in this video.
I just want everyone to know that you more than delivered in the end! And if anyone has any doubts about the program, you can tell them that the Joy that is in this video is grateful that you were able to take constructive criticism and work tirelessly so that YOU WERE ABLE TO SOLVE PROBLEMS!
May you have even great success in the future.
Thanks again,
JOY

Hi Tyrone,
Nice, and very honest of you. I am sitting on the fence for my 1st PL, and will remember your tips
Yup, Tyrone, I remembered your launch . It is good to look back at it now right?
Working on a launch for a new site myself and I’m sure I’ll have some hiccups.
I did a re-launch of http://www.passrider.com earlier this year and unknowingly broke the flight schedule part of it and could not get in touch with the programmer for a bit. Look at the comments from Feb. 22-24 at http://passrider.com/293/#comments.
Hi Tyrone, Thanks so much for sharing this! I’m in the process of working towards my first product launch and am just starting to get a taste of all that’s involved.
I can see how these little “blunders” can be easily overlooked and I appreciate you sharing them so others can learn from your mistakes.
Thanks again and wish me luck.
When I saw the title of your post I wondered myself how could he suck on his own product launch?
That was unfortunate what happened with the broken links but luckily you had a friend point it out to you. The point is that you learned from your mistakes and that you are teaching others so that they don’t make the same mistakes. I will make sure when it comes time for me to launch my product that I take these tips into consideration.
Everytime I visit your blog Tyrone you always have something useful to share that I can learn from and I appreciate that, keep it up!
Thanks! I know it was a title I couldn’t help using… it’s lessons like these that help make the product launch even better and it’s a lot easier when you do it next time round.
Talk soon.

Hi Anna,
I send you a message via your form on your website….Did you see it?
Thanks for sharing this story. I know that I will be launching my own product soon and it helps to hear some reassurance that everything does not have to be perfect to move forward. I think sometimes I get too wrapped up into details, graphics, and little stuff.
I’m really looking forward to your next post. I’ve been getting a lot of value from your newsletter Cheers!

Hey Tyrone
So good to watch your videos.
Thanks for sharing the mistakes you made and that we can learn from it too!
Two great mistakes you mentioned there – really really really important to test those link before sending them out to the big list
All the best!
Gideon
PS: Video Blogging is definitely the way of the future. Period.
[..YouTube..] @tyroneshum Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience.

Hi Joy,
Thanks. Yes you are right, the Comment Luv feature is a free plugin you can download at:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/commentluv/
Just install it and activate it. WordPress will do the rest and add the logo and automatically work out the post for you.
